Shoe Business

Shoe me the way baby cos you're my Caribbean queen! Right now she is. Ok so what did I get up to this weekend? I shoed...I mean I sho-e-pped for shoes and got this beautiful black baby for $80. What say girls? I love em loads. Guess what these shoes are called? EXTACY. Not a party drug, it's just a pair of shoes, o chillax! Now why do I love shoes so much? Well the very first reason being I'm a WOMAN, need I explain any further? I think I still would have to explain, considering the fact that there are loads of people who don't even own a single pair of shoes (cos I can see some of my readers going 'shame on you Keshi for spending so much money on shoes when there are so many shoe-less people on this Earth blah blah blah). Shoooooooo! Let me just explain my very valid 'other' reasons for it then. I simply love shoes, I can afford them and while I don't buy a new pair every sho-e-cking month, I love to keep up with the trends. While shoes is not a way to judge a person, I think what your feet wear expresses who you are to a certain extent. Don't you think? So when you are choosing a pair of shoes (be it any style, color, material, brand etc) you are expressing yourself. I dress to the occasion (atleast I try hard to) so I wear comfy shoes to work (Manolos etc), joggers for outdoors, stilettos for parties, killing-me-softly-with-those-straps-n-heels kinda shoes for weddings, no-shoes for driving shhhhh!, sandals for beach, flats for shopping, Roman-straps for a hot event ooh lala, etc etc etc. One other thing...I don't like cheap shoes. They wreck my feet, wear-out soon, usually are a rip-off, can never be exchanged/returned, and so not worth the drama. Therefore I always try and get something that's quality. I value the after-sales service as well, hell I do.

Basically you can look at someone's shoes and figure out what sort of person he/she is, atleast to a certian extent. I'm not saying you can tell who they are 100%, but you can atleast say what kind of personality he/she owns. It does depened on what the occasion is too. I consider a girl wearing thigh-high boots ( I call em slut-boots) hot, fashionable, bold and gutsy. Someone who wears Sandals to work, a simple and relaxed chick. Someone who wears Manolos, a fashionista ;-). Someone who wears feet-killing stilettos to shops, a bimbo. Someone who wears thongs to a formal party, a person with no sense of style at all. Believe me I have seen people wearing thongs to parties. I know that each one of us have our own freedom to wear what we want, but to wear thongs to a party/wedding is just not accepted - ah ah a big NO! What about the beach? I have seen some people walking around in high-heels in the sand. It would make a good horror flick, to say the least. Title would be 'RIP Common Sense'. What about someone who wears joggers for an executive job interview? I say it's being unprofessional and there's a big chance of not getting the job (unless ofcourse the interviewer himself is a jogger maniac). What about men's shoes? Well I don't know much about men's shoes except that I have noticed some blokes wearing rather large shoes...I mean SHOE SIZE of a man does tell me something and I have Cazzie's table to figure out the details haha! If the shoe fits, wear it ;-).

Your shoes do make an impression, whether you like it or not. It sho-e-s alot about you if you didn't already know. Wear what you like, what you're comfortable with, and most importantly dress to the occasion. Got any shoey thoughts from your side of the world people? And oiii men, what's your shoe-size? LOL!

Have a sho-e-delicious week ahead then!

Hi Keshi!!!!!!
Shoes. I use to buy alot more of them until I started wearing scrubs to work (since I work in a medical office). I now do not have to worry with regular or everyday clothes and shoes since most the time I am at work and wearing my work wear and athletic shoes.
One thing about shoes that I have noticed is it is definitely easier buying shoes than clothes. With clothes the sizes say one thing but alot of times are not what the size says. Sometimes the clothes are too big or too small. To long or too short. And yet the size says it's the size that I thought I wore. I remember not too long ago I was trying out some jeans. I tell you I liked the style of the jeans so I got different colors light denim, dark denim, black denim and you know what? All were the same size but ALL fit differently. But with shoes I really don't have a problem. Size 9 please and they most always fit just right.
Congrats on your new shoes!
Also, when it comes for paying for certain shoes and articles of clothing and I start worrying a bit about the price, I think
"price per wear". And somehow it makes me feel better and makes the item worth it!!!!

yeah i agree, shoe tells a lot abt the person even if u see them for the first time. Anyway as far as i m concerned i m very choosy abt my footwear coz i do a lot of physical excersion and if the shoes r not good the feet starts paining. Currently i hv an Edward by Florsheim(office wear), bama by Hush puppies(office wear&casual both), daVinchi clubwear by Metro(I wear them when i m simply freakin' out), trekkers by Woodland(mostly during monsoon) and a Reabock's pumping shoes(during work-outs), these r very costly pair of shoes but they take care of my foot real good and unlike other conventional brands where i enter the showroom and they simply say sorry sir we dont hv size 48(cms ofcourse).

Hi Keshi

So shoes make the person. I wear joggers 90% of the time, hikers 5% and other shoes to dress for special stuff.

I will explain my departure further. It is not all that bad. I hope to be able to wrap it in 10 days, but then we are off to England for a week.

Anyway not to worry--I'm not leaving the planet.

Shoes...*big guilty grin*

I go for the look of the shoes more than the comfort of them. I think thats something bad. But of course i do require a good amount of comfort for my feet just so i won't be foolish enough to buy shoes that wear my feet and money out foolishly. But i have indulged in some very sinful shoes before..And have an uncle who is always on my back abt it. :) I do believe in expensive shoes though , they treat ya feet betta and like u say last longer. And i do agree that shoes make a big impression on a person. But i have my sloppy days where i just want my flip flops or flats....GOSH They are so comfortable when the whole working week requires you to be on ya feet on heels . Ya feet feels like its resting when its on flats. But i am a big fan of heels. I so agree how they could flatter the figure more with just a perk higher.. They make my day sometimes really.:) I don't really fancy covered shoes..but they are a requirement somedays.I prefer those with pointed fronts and really high backs to lift the ass of the feet up if they have to be covered.

Luckily, we boys need only choose between two types of shoes: formal and sports. At least, I don't care about any more distinctions :)

But there must be something between women and shoes. If I'm not mistaken, somebody or other from India had more than one pair of shoes for each day of the year.

In the prime of his life, he more than once walked 40 miles a day to buy things from a store in thenearest town. Once he walked 55 miles in one day. As a voluntary stretcher-bearer, he carried wounded soldiers 30 to 40 miles at a stretch. Even at 78, for weeks, he every day worked 18 hours, sometimes his working hours extended to 21. At that age, he could not do any physical labour except spinning, but was fit enough to walk barefoot three to five miles every wintry morning on a dew-soaked village path.

He was born on October 2,1869.

Oh a girl after my own heart! Some people just don't understand this NEED for shoes. It is a need because we NEED to look good 24/7 :P I have my very favourite pair of Manolo's that I only wear on special occasions - reason being I'm still a poor student saving up for everything else and can't afford to be the Carrie Bradshaw of Melbourne. Hehe...but I LOVE my heels. For uni I wear flats (for comfort) but there usually cute little ballet slip-ons or ones with a tiny kitten heel. Heheh...$80 for those babies is a BARGAIN! For a girl who wears Manolo's $80 is peanuts lol. I have a pair just like them and it's my new fav pair :P

Some women have either a shoe fetish or a handbag fetish - I knew I was different and somewhat special because I love both :P Great for me...bad for my wallet :P

This post is so to my heart. I've stopped looking at bags, but I'm looking at shoes now. When i mention shopping, my friend automatically assumes I mean getting another pair of shoes ;)

There is nothing quite as delicious as bringing home a new pair of shoes, unwrapping the tissue paper and smelling that lovely new shoe smell. And then holding them against your clothes to see what they will go with. New shoes are a luxury.

Yes, we are women well said Keshi :) Don't forget bags too for me but I have a problem....not enough shoe cabinet to store all my shoes :(

HI Keshi

Teaching Keshi Girl to Find A Man

Lesson # 1

It is not simply how you look but how you flaunt it that is the secret of attraction, says a study published today.

A body of evidence has built up suggesting that a simple measurement, such as the waist-to-hip ratio, can predict how attractive a woman is. But a US team reports that an hourglass figure is not enough.

advertisementA curvaceous figure has to wiggle in the right way too - or swagger in the case of men - according to a series of experiments that show the science of romance is much more complicated than researchers had thought.

Dr Kerri Johnson, of New York University, and Dr Louis Tassinary, of Texas A & M University, asked people to rate the attractiveness of animations and videos of people as they walked.

Because they used shadow figures and animations where at first glance the sex was not obvious, the 370 people who assessed the figures had to make assumptions about the person's sex and masculinity or femininity. The researchers found that a person perceived as female was rated more attractive when moving in a feminine way, such as with a hip sway, or had feminine characteristics, such as a small waist-to-hip ratio.

A perceived male's attractiveness was rated higher when moving in a masculine way or had masculine characteristics such as a large waist-to-hip ratio.

Notable examples of curvaceous women with that seductive sway include Marilyn Monroe and the singers Beyoncé Knowles and Jennifer Lopez. The shoulders of rugged males can be seen swaggering in the case of any actor who has played an action hero, from Mel Gibson and Arnold Schwarzenegger to Daniel Craig.

Earlier work by Prof Devendra Singh and his daughter Adrian, from the University of Texas, suggested that lovestruck men had only a woman's waist-hip ratio in mind. But today's study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows that attraction is more complex than curvy figures and lantern jaws alone.

"For centuries, people have tried to identify a magical cue that inspires the perception of beauty," said Dr Johnson.

"We might be better off understanding how a range of cues affects our basic social judgments."

Penis size is stamped on men's shoes
2005/08/03

Women always recommended their friends to pay attention to men's foot size. The larger the foot size, the longer the reproductive organ of a man. An international group of researchers has recently discovered that the ancient supposition was actually true. Specialists conducted an extensive research among men in many countries including Russia. It turned out that there was a connection between the size of men's shoes and the length of penis. There is a very simple mathematical formula, which regulates the shoes-penis dependence: H=(L+5)/2. L stands for the foot length in centimeters, whereas H designates the sought length of manhood. There can be exceptions from the rule found of course, like it always happens, although the formula proved to be correct with 90 percent of the polled men. Thus, a man wearing shoe size 41 has a 15-centimeter long penis. The chart continues with shoe size 43 - 18.4 centimeters, shoe size 44 - 21.6 centimeters, shoe size 45 - 24.4 centimeters, etc.

Keshi, this part made me laugh:

Let me just explain my very valid 'other' reasons for it then. I simply love shoes

LOL.

You can judge people by their shoes. I also judge people by their jeans, but that's another story.

$80 for a pair of nice shoes does not sound unreasonable to me.

Oh my... it's been a long, long time Keshi... :) Have to catch up on all your posts, now... :P (LOL... I want to, chill..)

Yeah I guess you're right... the harsh reality of life.. the things you wear DO reflect who you are, sadly... but um.. I have a confession - shoes?! I NEVER notice shoes... jewellery, hairstyle, clothes and all that jazz - yep... but shoes my dear? LOL... just kidding. Hey - you're the fashionista, not me... :) I truly don't know about shoes, but I do like the link you've given to Cazzie's blog post... I wonder, if there is a relationship between the guys' shoe sizes and their penis sizes, surely there must be a similar correlation between women's shoe sizes and tit sizes??!! :D LOL! I wonder if there is something on the internet connecting the two together... or maybe just observation in real life will work LOL.. ;)
