Any ideas for 2000? duhhh do you even need any material for that, LOL! Just thinking how much we have evolved over the decades and while doing that how much baggage we have shed, inlcuding clothes. Global warming or not, people have gotten rid of many things over the centuries and it seems like not many people like too much material on them these days. Why is that? Are we going back to the stone-age when men and women wore less clothes and some even wore nothing at all? I saw a documentary on nude-city in France where people don't wear anything at all...go figure! what happened yesterday?
in fact in most parts of world ppl do wear more than they used to . in sri lanka for instance most ppl actually did not wear much up to last part of 20th century. same is true in most countries.
since other uses of cloths (such as keeping ppl worm etc)are no longer valid or losing their validity, they will serve one purpose only in the future . namely as a form of expressing wearer's personality . nudity will be part of the range of options available.
while we do shed some materials and baggage we do pick up others. such as lot of e-gadgets and invisible things like our credit history etc. so while we do not carry piles of gold coins now we carry our bank with us in the form of small plastic cards or in the future in the form of few bytes embedded somewhere else.

ReplyDeleteI agree with the transformations we have had in last few decades over clothing styles. But I think the nude-city concept sounds something different. I suppose there is nude-beach in australia too. The purpose of such places is to experience level of hedonism and free living. Please dont be misundestood that I am supporting the idea of nude-city or nude-beach concept. Its a way too far for me to understand and comment.
