I've always been perplexed at how so many people focus on the Wedding instead of the Marriage?
ReplyDeleteIt is indicative of our inability to think long term...we are creatures of instant gratification.
The young Bride dreams about her Princess outfit and the Groom salivates over ripping it off.
The next morning they wake up and think NOW WHAT?
The Bride is crushed because her Princess role of being the centre of the universe is done, finito, kaput, gone and now she's a mortal again
and the Groom is despondent because now the sex is sporadic and scheduled and all of the previous night's wild yes-I'll-love-you-'til-the-end-of-time-wow-she's-actually-letting-me-do-that-this-is-going-to-be-great euphoria slams into the wall of reality.
