Trespassers & Prosecutions

Concentrate on the word Trespass. How many times in your life have you been trespassed by someone or someone else have been trespassed by you? Many times. We all have trespassed someone else's territory, and so have we been at the receiving end of it. So what do I mean by Trespassing in this post? Following are some 'trespassed' situations I don't like to be in, but are very hard to avoid in this so-called-human-but-baboon world:

Trespass scenario #1: Territorial Pissings!
I'm talking to someone, and that someone suddenly starts a brandnew sentence *and in a higher pitch* even before I have finished talking! What's with that? Aren't humans designed to listen before speaking? A mouth and ears were given to us NOT to activate both of them at the same time. Let's admit it, it's hard to listen AND talk at the same time. Let one person finish their Say before you have your Say. Yes, one MONKEY at a time.

Trespass scenario #2: Border Security!
I'm watching something I really like on TV. Someone comes to the area and starts talking really loud to someone else, as if what I'm watching is less important compared to what they are talking. This same person when watching TV, shushes everyone else around! What's the dealio man? If you don't wanna be trespassed while watching your gunk, then please don't trespass others' gunk-watching either!

Trespass scenario #3: Illegal Immigrant!
I get into an argument with a friend (or a family member) and we are trying to sort things out. Suddenly a friend of my friend (or another family member) comes in between us, out of nowhere, with no clue about what happened or why we are argueing, and he/she takes my friend's side, just cos they are friends (or are closer)! Talk about trespassing, this is the ugliest and shallowest one - taking sides and that too without even knowing what really happened. And what can be a dumber Trespassing than that? Nothing actually!

Trespass scenario #4: Access Denied!
I have been friends with this really nice guy and I only met him recently. All of a sudden he tells me 'I LOVE U'. Whoaaaaaaa where did that come from now? I hope we are not a scene from a puke-sappy Hindi/Tamil movie where the moment a girl meets a boy it's I LOVE U 24/7. Those 3 words carry a very deep meaning so don't just abuse it just cos you're horny! If you just got to know someone and if you wanna keep that friendship til you get to know them better, take a tip: just shutup.

Trespass scenario #5: Inavsion, Tampering & Violation!
I do a professional exam or buy a house or start seeing someone or do something that comes as a total surprise to some family members. Now here comes an Aunt out of the dense forests of mega Suspicions, and say 'omg you didn't tell me about it any EARLIER!' and stops talking to me for a while? What is it with formalities? I hate them. I don't expect anyone to tell me their every private detail, neither do I wanna tell everyone about everything I do. Don't cross the limits people!

Please feel free to add to this notorious list of Trespassing scenarios, from your own life experiences. Looking forward to reading them :).

Live And Let Live
btw, this weekend is a busy one...on Sunday, I'm taking part in a massive Charity Walk & Run, organised by my sis' company. It's to collect funds for Cancer and Diabetes Research...so it's for a very good cause. All we have to do is pay the fee and walk run walk run :) by a beautiful beach in Sydney. Can Charity get any better, healthier and hotter than this? I think not! Wish me luck anyways, I hope I'll make it to the end and back of about 1.5hrs duration. I'm doing it out of Love...look at this Cancer-stricken lil baby with so much of hope to LIVE. Today's song is for all terminally ill people around the world. And I hope you all have a life-giving weekend too
!

Talk Less Say More

I was pondering upon Speech in the last few days. Many people are very quick in TALKING and giving judgements, but very slow in really SAYING something...meaningful speech I mean. We keep telling ourselves we are the cream of the world, the best, the reformed...but are we really? So, here's an excerpt given by a Hindu spiritual leader on Speech, that I received from a friend on email. Please read this first. After that, I've written what I derived from it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Practice moderation in speech. That will help you in many ways. It will develop Prema (Love), for most misunderstandings and factions arise out of carelessly spoken words. When the foot slips, the wound can be healed. But when the tongue slips, the wound it causes in the heart of another will fester for life. The tongue is liable to four big errors - uttering falsehood, scandalising, finding fault with others, and excessive articulation. These have to be avoided if there has to be Shanthi (Peace) for the individual as well as for the society. The bond of brotherhood will be tightened if people speak less and speak sweet. You are all spiritual aspirants at various stages of the road and mounam (Silence) as a discipline will be valuable for you. Silence is the language of the realised soul.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Now, have you noticed that when you hurt someone with your words it hurts you in return? So, isn't it so much better for us to keep quiet, or say only what you must and just move on? But still we keep repeating the noisy pattern - maybe we are just trying to prove ourselves right, but in that process we only end up sounding arrogantly self-righteous and stupid. Are words so tempting that we can't keep away from uttering them? Or is hurting someone and ourselves so addictive that we keep using verbal bullets to prove an empty point? Or do we use words to devalue someone who we know is better than us, cos that just makes us feel we are better than them? What is it in humans that makes them want to sound right all the time? But sadly for everyone's information, no one is right/wrong. Everyone is different, everyone thinks, writes, reads, comments, acts, reacts, copes etc etc differently. Someone might hurt you with their words. But then again, those are mere WORDS by them. Don't let their words affect you...stay calm, don't bend, don't break. And don't slam them back with hurtful words either. Cos Silence sometimes is the most powerful and effective form of Speech.

Silence can convey alot more than words. Your Silence can be the deafening Sound amidst their hollow Noise. Sometimes being silent is the only way you'd be heard. Silence is a higher form of speech. Less conveys more. So, TALK less, SAY more. When was the last time you engaged in empty speech or hurt someone else with words just cos you could? When was the last time that Silence(/less words) really made you hear someone else loud and clear? When was the last time you made someone feel your words than just hear?

I dedicate this post to my Uncle A who's bedridden now due to a sudden illness. He is a scholar in talking less and saying more...he's always been an inspiration to me...he hardly gets into meaningless arguments, bitching or hurting people, only cos he's very wise and knows that speaking silence is often the most powerful sound...

Genre:Movies

I was tagged by both Aneesh and Zubin on this Movie tag. Now I do watch alot of movies (English, European with subs, Sinhalese, Hindi, Tamil etc) but not many get registered in my brain only cos most movies are total gunk...pure waste of time. I prefer low-budget movies with real-life stories than blockbuster hits that are formula movies *girl meets boy and falls in love, girl's parents don't like the boy, a villain tries to kill the boy, boy somehow wins, and in the end the whole family is dancing the Macarena WTF*. And then there are other movies where everyone lives in big houses, cars galore, girls look so pretty with stay-put lipstick and frozen mascara even when they are crying their lungs out or are totally drenched in the rain? What about the movies where millions of dancers suddenly come running out of nowhere when a song is up? Where do these people come from?? Then there are old Sivaji movies (2nd pic here) that my mum loves...she tells me she fell in love with Sivaji's acting skills. In my opinion, Sivaji takes about 15mins and 100 muscle movements to say just one word? But ofcourse he was a great Tamil actor in his era, no doubt :). So, most of the time I watch movies just to relax, laugh *even when it's supposed to be a serious movie*, and learn about other cultures, lifestyles, music, dance, colors, costumes and people's life experiences. And only very few movies manage to grab my attention and stay in my head and heart for a very long time...movies with substance that have a touch of reality and manage to portray human emotions and experiences in a clever and effective way. Now here goes the tag:

1. Name 5 of your all time favourite movies

Couldn't even think of 1 fav so how can I think of 5? Basically I don't have favs when it comes to movies...just good movies that made a difference in my thought process. So here I go:

1. The Pursuit Of Happyness
2. The Bridges Of Madison County
3. The English Patient
4. Forrest Gump
5. Surabhi Dena (Sinhalese)

2. Name one movie which you recommend as a "must see"

Water (Hindi). If you haven't seen this one yet, it's about an 8yr old child bride (Chuyia) turned widow who is sent away by her family to a Hindu widow ashram to spend the rest of her life there. Little Chuyia is a bundle of joy and her innocence even at the hands of cruel and meaningless tradition is an ultimate tearjerker. Actress Sarala Kariyawasam who performs Chuyia's role is a Sinhalese girl from Sri Lanka...and she had learnt Hindi just for this movie and her acting skills are just amazing! btw the cast also includes John Abraham *cough cough* and Lisa Ray. You've got to see it to know why it's such a magnificent movie.

3. The one and only one movie that you've seen the most number of times (watching on TV won't count)

I can't watch a movie again and again...how boring! Although I used to do that when I was quite young, dumb and lovelorn *eg:Titanic, Ghost*. But I have seen Water about 4 times...only cos I never get bored of watching it...it's a very real and heart-breaking story of many Indian females.

4. Which movie comes to your mind first, when you think about the funniest movie?

Too many of them that I like! Cos I love watching Comedies - it's my fav genre. All Austin Powers, Jim Carey and Ben Stiller movies *love these guys!* and the National Lampoon's Vacation Series. You've got to watch em!

5. Which movie made you really emotional?

The Beaches...too real and heart-breaking. Also, most Hindi/Tamil/Sinhalese movies are major DRAMA *rolling eyes*, and mum and I end up crying like we are in a funeral and then we both burst into laughter looking at each others' pathetic faces! 2yrs ago I was flying back to Aus from NZ, and was watching the Hindi movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak inflight and guess what happened...I started crying like I just got shot LOL! It was such an emotional movie and I was a big fat cry baby on air!

6. Which movie series do you think was as interesting as the first part in the series?

I don't like watching sequels all that much, cos the 2nd part always ends up being a try-hard crapster...something like a plastic-surgery version of the original one? But the sequels of Comedies such as Austin Powers, Father Of The Bride, Meet The Parents, Ace Ventura and National Lampoons are brilliant!

7. Which movie, according to you, didn't live up to your expectations, after all the hype you've heard?

Many actually. One that comes to my mind is the Hindi movie Guru. So many friends asked me to see it. And when I started watching it I got dead bored within the first 40mins or so, and I was wondering why the hell I was still watching it *I must have been in a boredom trance*.

8. Which movie, really surprised you?

13 Ghosts. WTF was that about? The ghosts looked so pathetic I had my fear of ghosts cured just by watching it! Have you ever felt sorry for a ghost? If not, watch this movie. They looked like they needed a serious mental restoration, rather be sent to a Metal factory so they can remove whatever the gunk that's on this head!

I tag anyone who wants to do this. Thanks Aneesh and Zubin, I had fun doing this tag!

Now, this song is one of my fav movie songs...it's a Hindi song from the movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (with SRK and Kajol, 2 of my fav Hindi actors). I dedicate this song to Hemz who's looking for love and is not feeling so happy at the moment...mate, Love is to be felt in your heart and no, you can't hurry or force love either. I have loved, have been heart-borken, have been told that it wouldn't work after years of dreaming, gone home in tears, watched how my solid dreams burnt away into mere debris, but all that time I had someone by my side and someone to love me...and that was myself. So Hemz, love yourself first, be your own friend and keep smiling no matter what. Cos all through life, all through temporary bonds and dreams and everything else, we only have one thing permanently with us, and that's ourselves. Life is like a movie...each of us have to play our roles somehow, and it's an individual performance. So do your best Hemz and don't let anything stop you. HUGS!

Pleasure & Pain...

I have been very busy this long weekend, didn't have time to visit all your blogs, don't feel like writing much either, I'm a lil tired, a lil blue and a lil moody these days *stretches her arms and winks*. But the thought of getting a tattoo has always lifted my spirits up. I have always wanted to get a Rose tat on my back, just above the butt, below the waist (not as in this pic!). But certain family 'granma' groups stopped me from doing it *rolling eyes*...they told me that tattoos can be toxic, painful, rowdy-like etc etc. *yawns*. Anyways, just tell me this...where would be the sexiest spot for me to get a tattoo and what should it be? So c'mon gimme some ideas please. Thanks in advance! And if you or someone you know already have tats, tell me about them...and what does a tat and it's place signify? For example, a rose signifies femininity, and a tat at the waist portrays sex appeal. So yeah, tell me what you think about them. Catch ya all soon!
