**Beach - if not for this wonderful therapist, I'd be filling up my bathtub until water runs into my Living Room aha!
**Granny undies - as much as I like sexy lingerie, if not for this shrink, I'd be making a necklace out of G-strings, to strangle some people.

Share with me the details of your Daily Shrinks too...thanks guys!

And the Flying Kissee of the day is...

Cos this post is about great Psychiatrists that has the CURE, I'd love to dedicate it to a beautiful, very intelligent, sensible, smart, caring and loving woman Solitaire! She's just an amazing personality in this Blogworld...she is a shrink by profession, and her blog spreads awareness of mental health and issues that we all deal with on a daily basis. Thank God I found her cos until then I was thinking I myself was one giant mental illness. Conversations with this lovely lady made me realise that I'm pretty normal :) and that no one is really 'crazy'...we all have our varied experiences in life and we all deal with them differently. Anyways, Solitaire makes me read her blog posts in total awe of her and she is certainly a big part of my daily dose of Sanity, Love and Light. We need more people like her in Blogville to make people understand and deal with certain issues in life in a healthy manner, and not to consider it a shame to get counseling if required. I really love the way Solitaire handles her every reader and it takes great courage and a ton of patience to be who she is! She's a marvellous, magical and heart-felt touch in my life. MWACKKZ hun, dija feel it? ;-) This song (one of my favs) is dedicated to your beautiful soul, enjoy! Cos your eyes are so pretty and deep, cos your soul is so beautiful and giving...

btw I'm on my way to rehb now...blog-hopping ;-) See yaz soon!

The Sound Of Silence

Don't you dare yell at me like that ever again! It's all about YOU 24/7 isn't it. Don't forget that others have feelings too, and are made of flesh and blood. You did something very unacceptable my dearest and now you can't stand the truth HUH! You pick up the phone and blow up on me like that? What the hell, am I your verbal bin? You can scream all you want, say that you are so clean and right, but none of that is going to save your soul. Deep down in your heart, you know that you stabbed the trust I had in you...you wrecked it...you played games with the bond we had. This was your last chance and you blew it too. I'm not gonna just sit and watch you mock me. You protect your ego and pride. It's ok to do so, but it's really ugly when you do that after inflicting emotional wounds upon someone else. It only takes a handful of selfish words to guard your conceit, but it takes tons of grace and humility to accept your weakness. I'm not going to argue with someone who thinks so high of themselves that their ego is ever so endless...it'd be pointless and a waste of my time. So I rest my case. Eat me alive if it makes you happy, I'm not gonna say a word. I can only hear a very loud NOISE that don't beckon me to speak.

Guys, just now something happened between me and a very close cousin...she can never get over herself I'm so bored by it. She did this same thing to me once when I was holidaying in NZ...on the way back from Rotorua, we had some silly convo over a Card game that lead into a heated argument. I quickly went silent after a while cos I really don't like shouting at each other...but this girl went on and on for about 2hrs (pretty much for the rest of the drive home). I could honestly say she traumatised me with her verbal attack. Though it was not abuse, she was totally out of control of her own self and it was sad to watch someone like her doing that. My other cousins who were in the van just listened in silence too..cos no one could stop her mouth. Well at the time I thought she was under alot of stress (cos she was getting married to someone her family didn't like etc) and maybe that's why she was taking it on us. So I could forgive her, after some time though. But today, she did the same thing again! She took me back to that day 2yrs ago and I felt awful and wanted to cry. I'm not gonna cry though...cos it's not my fault. I'd only cry if I myself let this happen to someone else. She has a problem...the problem is that she just can't accept it when she's in the wrong and she thinks that arguing forever like this would put her in the clear. Besides she has a set of standards for herself and a different set of standards altogether for others. Surely that's not gonna work, is it now! Besides who is happy arguing non-stop like this? She wouldn't let me talk for a minute! o I was so getting bored with her rant I hung up on her. Is that wrong? Cos she wasn't talking, she was yelling. It was like a suicide terrorist giving his final angry self-defending speech, yes she was that desperately self-righteous! So I told her 'you know what, you're RIGHT so let's just end this convo' and I hung up. I don't think I deserve to be subjected to that kind of gunk, so I cut it short. Some people just wanna be RIGHT...so I let them be right. It gives me peace!

Seriously I feel like I have become a nun cos of some people...I'm really sick of family shit and I'm so over some people's big fat egoes. And now I'm immune to such shit it don't affect me like it used to. But don't you hate it when people take you for granted and don't accept what they've done? Why is it so hard for people to keep quiet instead of firing with words that mean nothing? Anger makes you say and do things that'll probably make you regret for a very long time. Talk is cheap...sometimes Silence is the most powerful expression. The sound of silence is DEEPER than the sound of empty speech which is usually only LOUD. So I choose Silence. I'm not going to talk to her for some time...for a very long time actually. This is just my heart pouring out the pain.

I will never bother you
I will never promise to
I will never follow you
I will never bother you
Never speak a word again
I will crawl away for good
I will move away from here
You wont be afraid of fear
No thought was put in to this
I always knew it would come to this
Things have never been so swell
I have never failed to feel Pain... ...

Freedom Arrives In Jail

Hi Guys how was your weekend? Hope it was good. Well guess what, the 71st bday party went very well. Pics will come in the next post or so, cos I really want to share the following true story with you first.

I watched this FANTASTIC (chilling!) movie
PROVOKED (click on link to find out more) on Friday night. It's a very sad yet totally gripping true story of a Punjabi woman named Kiranjit Ahluwalia from London. It is an English movie (very little Hindi with subs) starring Aishwarya Rai, doing a fantastic job with her role as Kiranjit, and Navin Andrews acting as Kiranjit's husband Deepak Ahluwalia. A brief intro to the movie: Kiranjit is a simple, traditional girl from Punjab who is married off to an NRI Deepak Ahluwalia. Post-marriage she moves to London with her husband, and sadly she becomes a victim of domestic violence from Deepak. She becomes a mother of 2 young boys, her husband continues to treat her as if she's nothing, beats her black and blue over the 10yrs they were together, drinks heavily, carries on affairs with other women, comes home and abuses, beats and rapes Kiranjit. Yes the movie had some scenes that had tears of extreme shock and compassion rolling down my face. Which sane woman would go through that kind of treatement from her own husband and that too in the 1980s? For someone like Kiranijit, reputation mattered more than her freedom, so she hid all her problems with Deepak in her 'cultural' attic and pretended nothing was wrong. But one fateful night in May 1989, Kiran is pushed beyond her limits and gets 'provoked' to an extent that Deepak ends up paying the heaviest price ever...she sets him on fire while he was sleeping, and yes he loses his life as a result of severe burns. The rest of Kiran's life of which 3yrs was spent in jail is ironically where she found TRUE FREEDOM. Freedom from a man who wrecked her life and tortured her self worth every single day. The trust she placed on this man when she got married was just a faraway dream...the matrimonial pledges he uttered was a mere mockery. So one day Kiranjit just snapped out of all the lies she was living in and acted upon an emotion that got pushed beyond it's limits...and that emotion was her self-worth. The courtroom scenes are a must-watch with good concentration as this was the case that redefined the legal definition of 'provocation' in the British law. Provoked is the kind of movie that keeps you intrigued and makes you watch it to the end. It's a story of a real woman, a real wife, a real mother and real HOPE. Get and watch it if you can (pics above are scenes from the movie).

This is a pic of real-life Kiranjit and her late husband Deepak Ahluwalia. Those smiles were hiding alot of guilt, pain and suffering. What I'm trying to say is, if you are not being treated as you should be, by anyone out there (be it your husband, wife, partner, friend, colleague, parent etc), please don't try to protect a 'reputation' that'll probably swallow your 'freedom' altogether. Reputation is great yes, but not at the cost of your self-respect, freedom and life. If your conscience is telling you that something is not right, then something is indeed wrong. Status, shame, culture, duties...nothing should limit you as a person and strip your Right to be who you are. Wake up before it's too late. Kiranjit took an extreme step but it doesn't have to end that tragically. Both Kiran and Deepak could have gotten help but perhaps it was not meant to be that way. Sadly her power was limited to take necessary and proper action before it got too drastic. But it doesn't have to be this way for every physically, emotionally or sexually battered woman(/man). If you take necessary actions as it happens and before it goes too far, you can avoid dire consequences and deep regrets. Getting professional help is not a shame...protecting a violent person at the cost of your self-worth is the real shame. If you want to, please read my previous post on Domestic Violence, at Dial Confide Survive. I helped 2 real people after that post and they are doing very well now. Live life the way you want, not the way others or your culture wants you to. Cos others or your culture isnt going to save you when things go totally out of hand. So take prompt and proper action if you or someone else is in an abusive relationship. Don't wait til it's too late to fix anything, like how it was for both Kiranjit and Deepak. (this last pic is of Kiranjit with actress Aishwarya Rai at this movie's premiere in April 2007).

Questions for you:

1.
If you were in Kiranjit's shoes (whether you're a man or a woman) what woul
d you have done at the hands of a violent spouse like Deepak?
2.
In your own opinion (keeping in mind the torture Kiranjit went through and the kind of innocent woman she was), did Kiranjit do the right/wrong thing and why?

The Diverse Individuality

My last post about MY Favourite Indians caused some uproar and disappointment in few Indians (very few not to care). But I want to get a point across to those who think they can control what others think and do. So here it is. When I published that post, I didn't expect a negative reaction...well not this ridiculous anyways. Cos that was a happy and totally FUN post. However few people saw it as a 'shallow' and 'disrespectful' post. Seriously, who do some people think they are? This is MY blog, and I write whatever I want. Now I know that whatever I write about is open to discussion and I respect that...but when people cross the limits and demand me to write what THEY want instead of what I want, that's when I draw the line and say PISS OFF! I'm not gonna be polite to those who are rude to me. You get what you give. You try to force your opinions on me, you will be told off by me. BEWARE of the venomous thorns of Keshi! I go to a blog to read someone's post and comment on the post, not to mock their person and question their credibility. Some people have the nerve to do that and it's really appalling! It's a shame on the very thing that they're trying to protect...their origins. This blog world is no different than the real world...people are always pointing fingers at others when a thousand fingers are pointing at themselves.

Indians have played a big part in my life. Though I'm originally Sri Lankan, I have Indian blood from my mother's side (she's a Tamil herself). Sri Lankan Tamils originally came from South India. My father is a Sinhalese, and the Sinhalese are of Indo-Aryan origin. So yeah, roots-wise I have Indian blood in me. But I was born in Sri Lanka and lived in Australia long enough to call it my home . So I'm kind of a cultural fruit-salad and I'm proud of it. Cos that has made me stronger and taught me how to appreciate EVERY nationality, not just MY nationality (unlike some people in my comment section behave!). I'm quite friendly with people from around the world and I respect a person for his/her individuality, not skin color. So when I choose to write about my fav Indians, it's entirely upto me to write MY favs...meaning Indians who I know about, who I like, who I have been influenced by etc. Now if I were to write about EVERY great Indian there ever was, I'd have to create 100 blogs to do that! Besides I havent lived in India and I don't read The Indian Express to know about every single Indian who's influencing YOUR life...I read the Sydney Morning Herald btw! This was just one simple post about the immediate Indians that came to my mind and bang, there was a huge war declared by some very opinionated people! WHY? Cos some people are always waiting to mess around with others...take their frustrations on others...frikkin force their opinions on others. And why again? Cos they have no respect for INDIVIDUALITY. This is the one big reason behind ALL wars in this world today. People don't wanna look beyond themselves, try and understand that people are individuals and have various likes and dislikes, that different people come from different backgrounds, that each person's opinions have been shaped by what they have experienced in their own lives, that beliefs and perceptions are never going to be the exact same between 2 people. I.O.W. some people are incapable of 'seeing' and 'respecting' others for their Individuality, they are plain SELFISH that all they ever think of is THEMSELVES and THEIR opinion. It's a total weakness and I think it's the worst quality one can have. Indian or English, Gay or straight, Tongue-pierced or unpierced, Actress or IT Consultant, Gandhi or SriDevi, Young or old, Tall or short, Round or square, Shallow or deep, God or human....whatever it is, the most beautiful thing about each and everyone of us is our Individuality. Imagine all of us dressed the same, walked the same, worked in the same field, thought the same, valued the same things etc etc...just imagine how dull this world would be then! So be proud of your individuality...don't let few arrogant people change who you are.

No one has the right to question WHY I chose a person to be in my list and not that other person! Just how the F**K does that work? This is my blog and my thoughts. So back off! Entertainment plays a big part in my life. And Entertainment is a big industry and it sure does feed alot of people's emotions. Movies and music is a must in MY life (and I'm sure in many others' too). Many actors and actresses are following their passion and doing a great service to people. Atleast those artists have brought real recognition to India...what have you done to your country than just being a strong nationalist in words only? Most movies that I watch portray real-life stories and emotions that we all go through and I have great respect for people who make good movies and music. I believe that if you can't enjoy a movie and you mock all actors just cos of few bad ones, then you can't be human. You're just living in a fogged up world...fogged up by what SHOULD be right, not what IS right for you. I don't live under anybody's shadow. I prefer to be myself and live MY life than follow what my life SHOULD be. If you think I'm shallow, so be it...I really don't give a damn about what you think about me, cos I'm quite comfy being me. And guess what, I'm not here to please anyone either.

So yeah, what if those are MY fav Indians? Yes John is HOT (and I would love to do him too!) and that's why he's in MY list. Yes SriDevi is a gorgeous actress and that's why she's in MY list. Yes Gandhi is a great person and that's why he's in MY list. MY doesn't mean this is the whole world's fav list! If that was so difficult for you to understand, then I can't help that. Let people be the individuals that they are. If you have something to say about YOUR favs, then do your own post and let the world know about it. Just don't tread on my territory and force your lifestyle on me. That is the lowest one can get. I respect YOUR individuality and I'd like you to respect MY individuality too. This is me, there's only One of me, take me as I am or just get off my back. ***looks you in the eye***
