Schmelly Schmelly Naiiche!

This is a graphic story of a man who's feet smelt so bad it paralysed his cat. Perhaps killed.

The 13th of August was my darling yanky friend Margie's birthday. I want to wish her all the happiness in the world and I hope this schmelly schmelly funnaay story makes her smile :). And today, the 17th of August is my dear vegemite mate Aidan's birthday...HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mr.Aidan live it up! You are 2 of the brightest candles that light some of my darkest days. THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU too! Today's song is for Margie and Aidan, enjoy!

So what are my plans for the weekend? Nothing much this time. But something will come up, I just know. But I'm doing something very SCHPECIAAL tomorrow...woohoo...I'm going shopping...LOL I know it's boring for some of you...but you have no idea how therapeutic it can be to this rather crazy girl! Shopping helps me relieve stress (it keeps me away from slapping someone), it makes me happy by buying shoes perhaps? hehehe, gives me ample time to hunk-watch (Keshi wolf-whistles!), makes me walk around for hours that may help in losing some calories (haaa ha that's gymming for me right now!), stop at my fav cafe to have some yummy coffee (mm mmm!), check out the current fashion so I don't look like Wilma Flinstone when I walk out of the house next time, and it helps me to get out of the house on a weekend when there's nothing else to do (or I might start painting my house red). btw the thick mist in Sydney today made me bump into so many strangers' behinds as I walked down the street urrrrrggg! Ok so what are your weekend plans? Anyways have a good one ok, and I'll see you's when I see you's next!

Color Of Tears

Baghdad - The mother of Samah Hussein grieves over the body at a Baghdad morgue. The boy was among 12 people reportedly killed by a suicide car bombing outside the U.S. military's Camp Cuervo. (Photo by Samir Mizban, June 13, 2004. A Pulitzer Prize winning photo)

Tears are colorblind. Love knows no country or race. Bonds are universal. Pain is inevitable. Children are precious. All his work is done, yet so much undone. This mother and son is every mother and son. Death don't choose but war does. Parting is difficult. Silence is deafening. Can someone hear her soft but deep sobs? Why How When Where? Ultimate price for being innocent. Race and religion draw borders. Vengeance mars humanity. Love never kills and Love never dies. So why don't we ever give Love a chance?

Today I dedicate one of my fav songs to this unknown child...I'm sorry this happened to you Samah but know that I'm thinking of you...and I CARE.

Be Free

Today is India's 60th Independence Day. Soon after that, Sri Lanka got it's Independence too from British rule (in 1948). In order to celebrate India, and my many many Indian friends here, I wanna make a post on the Saree. I love the saree! It's my favourite Indian attire. I have many sarees and these are few photos taken when I wore the saree (old and new) - some pics of mine, my cousins and friends. Enjoy the saree that's proudly made in India!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL INDIANS!

As a celebration of freedom, I'd like you all to describe in few words what Freedom really means to you. In BUF, this is what I said.

Freedom to me, is:

Being who I am wherever I may be -
INDIVIDUALITY

Tolerating all kinds of people - TOLERANCE

Realising the strengths and weaknesses of self - ACCEPTANCE

Spreading love and living in it - LOVE

Breaking all barriers to achieve togetherness - UNITY

Living in openness of the mind - PEACE

Do you have in you what it takes to set you free? It's your turn now. What is Freedom to you? Today's music is dedicated to all my Indian hotties here (Puja my Rajastani babe I LOVE U u soni kudi!) - I love all of you beautiful people from all cultures of the world! Have a good one mates. Jai Hind! :)

Red Tail Lights

Sometimes we need a break, even from the ones we love. Sometimes we need to part, for the sake of keeping it alive. Sometimes we need to go away, to get a better understanding of a situation. Sometimes we need to disappear, for our spirit to appear. Sometimes we need to hide, to be 'seen' by those who don't really see us. Sometimes we need to be out of the picture, to make way for others. Sometimes we need to say goodbye, cos nothing else would make sense...

Why are Goodbyes so hard? I usually hate to see someone leaving but if it's for the good of that person, then it's the best thing to do. I believe Goodbyes are hard when there's alot of unsettled issues. Or perhaps the Goodbye would really settle all those issues? Whatever said and done, if the person saying goodbye wants to do so, then we should respect that and let them go. Be it a temporary parting or even death, with some goodbyes do you still live in denial? I do. And if I see a blog-mate of mine leaving for good, I'd feel really sad. That's just me. So if I leave Blogville forever for some reason, would you be ok with it? I know you wouldn't have a choice especially if it's my wish, but I want to prepare you all for it...cos someday I might not be here at all. Same with each and everyone of you. Would we ever meet again then? And when we are old and grey would we think of each other? Would we even cry? I know I would. And I want to know how it would affect you. Some of you may not worry much, but I know some others would hurt. But when a chapter ends, we must move on to the next chapter.
Cos you know sometimes we need to say goodbye, cos nothing else would make sense...

Fair Dinkum Masti!

I was at the India Australia Friendship Fair held yesterday at the Sydney Olympic Park. It was one fantastic show held on behalf of India's 60th Independence Day celebrations. We got seats at the VIP pavilion for no special reason woohoo! So we were very close to the stage and saw all the dances and also Aussie cricketer BRETT LEE (who was a special guest) close-up! He came to give away some prizes. There were BEAUTIFUL dances from various parts of India, fashion shows, Bollywood masala, Bhangra, food, clothes, stalls of all sorts, firewroks, boys mm mmm etc etc. There was a massive crowd..I could almost say that there's one whole India in Sydney itself now :). Such a big crowd! It was a great mixture of culture, colors, performances and the spirit of people from India and Australia, living together in harmony. I attend this fair every year and here are some pics from it from last year...yesterday's pics haven't been uploaded as yet (I will link those pics to this post as soon as they upload them). Hope you all had a colorful weekend too!

This song is one of my fav Punjabi dance numbers. Let me know what you think. Enjoy! (sorry I updated that song with another fav :))
btw if anyone is wondering what Fair Dinkum means, it's Aussie slang for GENUINE...and Masti means FUN in Hindi. So u work out the title now.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL MY INDIAN MATES HERE!

Fashion or a victim of a dog attack?

I may be young but I'm not an idiot!

Have a great weekend folks! Now don't get caught by the candid camera ;-). Btw my last post has just been updated with the answer, winner and winning title (read the bottom para of last post). And this song is especially for the beautiful girl PS who won, and for all the girls out there, MWAHHHHH! No I'm not contesting for the next Oprah but I just wanna say this to you: You are all beautiful with or without makeup, torn clothes or big boobs! Have some real love for who you are on the inside...not so much for what you are on the outside. Cos that's the kind of confidence that will stay with you forever. Have a good one ladies!

With Or Without You

It's a Thursday...so let's do a HNT (Half-Nekked-Thursday) of some sorts. Two pics of me here...taken this morning. Something is nekked nekked in my face here:). You've got 2 pics to find that out. So what is it? It's so easy. Now mold your answer to an apt title for this post.

The best title will be chosen for this post at the end of all your entries. Thanks in advance ;-). Have a good one all you brainy lil Vegemaaites!

Update! The correct answer to the question was no lisptick, means naked lips...many of you got it right, well-done guys! Now there were a great many Titles suggested...all of them rocked! But the one that won my heart the most was the one that linked that answer (naked lips) well into a very clever title...and that was PS's entry: With Or Without You. With or without lipstick we girls still look good woohoo :). And that song by U2 is one of my favs too. Congratts PS babez, you rock! And thanks everyone else for joining in the fun!

While The Rainbow Lasts...

My good friend Bev's friend was missing for few weeks and just 2 weeks ago they found his body...yes he died. Grunty, another wonderful mate of mine was suddenly diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma few days ago - yes he has Cancer. Kaylee my darling friend of just 16yrs old is suffering a heart condition for which she has to go through surgery on the 10th of August - yes she's very anxietic about it. Prachi, my good friend Poo's 1yr old niece has Leigh's disease - yes she's the baby girl I wrote about in many posts. My dearest friend Pankaj's blog-friend Natalya lost her young sweet-heart to a sudden illness - yes just like that. Jeevan my good friend struggles daily with muscular dystrophy - it's a tough life out there. My uncle in NZ is having a terrible time right now - and one of his own sisters is treating him like he's rubbish. And then there are some of us who suffer in silence.

So behind all those smiles, there is alot of pain. Look around you and you'll see alot of people suffering - it's not an easy life for many out there. I sometimes feel totally useless not being able to do something to take away their pain and change their worlds around, just like that. It's not easy to be in their shoes, I admire them for their strength and courage. I have been blogging for 3 years now and some of the people I mentioned above have been my daily visitors here...and above all, we have become good friends now - so that makes them a part of my daily inspiration. And it breaks my heart to see them going through very difficult times...I know that nothing I say to them would change their situations, but I want to let them know that I can feel their pain...and that I can be a shoulder to cry on. I won't be in blogs forever either...no one would. Sadly every good thing must come to an end. Just like how life is. Just like how we may have great health today and it may all be stolen tomorrow. Just like how we'd be laughing and smothering each other with hugs today but one of us may not be around tomorrow. Just like how we may have lots of money today and it may all be gone by next week. Just like how an opportunity missed today may never come back to you in your entire life again. Just like how a rainbow wouldn't last forever either. That's why it's important to say your Hellos, give your Kisses, throw a ton of Hugs to your loved-ones, convey your Apologies when they are due, give Credit where it belongs and Love one another every single day....yes every single day. Just like how you should enjoy the colors of the rainbow while it lasts. Everything goes through change and everything has an end...but one thing remains the same (or should remain the same)...that is your spirit towards changes and chapter-ends. Does your spirit seek foreverness or does it live in the moment? Mine lives in the moment. That way I have lived 'forever' in that moment itself. That's all you get in life anyways.

Bev, Grunty, Kaylee, Poo, Prachi, Pankaj, Natalya, Jeevan and my uncle, please know that you are all in my prayers! Know that you are being thought of every single day. Let's learn to be there for each other, appreciate what we have right now and learn to let go when life's chapters beckon a goodbye. And remember where the rainbow ends, you'll find yet another beginning...for nothing ends without a new beginning. So, all we really have is this very moment. MWAAAACKS! Right now I'm happy forever, cos right now I have you...

Today's song is for all of you who suffer alone yet know how to smile...everytime I listen to this song, I have tears cutting my eyes as my heart melts feeling your pain. James Taylor sang it first but I want to play the Divas version of it today as there's a variety of beautiful voices in it, and I'd like to think of it as all of us friends singing it for each other...

When youre down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.

You just call out my name,
And you know whereever I am
Ill come running, oh yeah baby
To see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall,
All you have to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Youve got a friend.

If the sky above you
Should turn dark and full of clouds
And that old north wind should begin to blow
Keep your head together and call my name out loud
And soon I will be knocking upon your door.
You just call out my name and you know where ever I am
Ill come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And Ill be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Hey, aint it good to know that youve got a friend?
People can be so cold.
Theyll hurt you and desert you.
Well theyll take your soul if you let them.
Oh yeah, but dont you let them

You just call out my name... ... ...

Pebbles Of Wisdom

I came up with the following conclusions after some traumatic experiences with some trauma-inducing people in my life (rolling eyes here...). Please note this is about certain experiences I have come across in my life, so it's not about you. Anyways, I'm glad life taught me few good lessons. See if you can add to the list too.

I may not be rich but I'm not cheap
I may not be perfect but I'm not fake
I may hurt someone but I'm not a wicked witch
I may lie but not to
the extent I need a lie-detector test!
I may not be glamorous but I'm not short of beauty

I may be honest with my opinion but I'm not stone-hearted
I may laugh at you but I l
augh at myself too
I may not own a luxury house but my heart is a castle

I may not have all the answers but I can listen to your story
I may not have my own kids but I'm a mother to my friends
I may be vain but I'm not superficial

I may not be blessed with lots of luck but we are all instruments here
I may not be serious but I'm seriously funny
I may have run out of cash but I have plenty of coffee?
I may give you a lift today but I don't expect you to do the same for me tomorrow
I may be single but I'm complete

I may not always say you look good but when it's been said I really mean it
I may not have it all but nothing's forever either
I may be crazy but I'm not stupid

I may be lonely but I haven't lost me
I may not pray every
night but I don't break people up

I may not be successful in your eyes but I haven't failed love
I may not be around some day but my spirit will be...and what matters is that it shall be felt fondly.

Face Of Hurt

Have you ever put a face to your emotions? I have. I have a face each for Love, Anger, Fear, Affection, Beauty etc etc. And this is the face of Hurt. I think this face describes my mood right now. It's so easy for people to say I'm reacting too much to Sharon's way of life (read last post) and that if it suits her that I should leave her alone etc. But who said I have a problem with her way of life? I don't. The truth is she seems to have a problem with my way of life! Cos she's the one who's avoiding me right? I have always been the Keshi she knew from day 1. But she's not the Sharon I used to know. I can accept that people change but I can't accept someone leaving their friends cos of their faith. I never judge people based on their beliefs/faith/color etc. If I did that, I should have left her long time ago. I only seek the purity of the heart. Sharon had it all...now her heart seems to be confused. She's the one who's pushing me away based on her beliefs. So please don't say that I'm the shallow one here. I'm pretty good at apologising for my faults, but in this case I won't. Cos I firmly believe I'm not the one at fault here. How would you feel if a close friend of your's or a loved-one abandoned you cos of their new-found faith? It's so hard for me to get that across to you through a blog post, but it sure does hurt.

The face of my Hurt is staring at you. What does it's features tell you?

Witnessing Friends

Guys today I lost it badly with a very close friend. She used to be a real good friend of mine...actually my very best friend until recently. We used to go places together, meet up almost every 2 days, dine and wine, hunk-watch, dance, party, shop, share our most hidden secrets, do crazy things together, help each other move houses, drive to far away places etc etc. Even our families are very close and visit each other often. I have known her all my life in Aus. And then came a massive hurricane of 'Watchtower' influence on her! She brokeup with her then BF, she went into depression and then she converted her faith into Jehovah's Witnesses. Then she changed drastically - yes DRASTICALLY. She's no longer the fun girl I used to know. Now she spends all her weekends in the 'Kingdom' Hall of JWs...goes door to door preaching the Bible, doesn't dress up like she used to, don't call/meet me often, don't celebrate bdays or accept gifts (WTF I still want my bday gift!), don't do crazy things with me like she used to, dont do this and dont do that! Now she calls me like once a month and that too is bloody rare - as rare as coming across a sane Tom Cruise. I thought she must be going through some crappy phase and I let her take her own time to bounce back to her normal sane self. But few years passed and she never came back to her happy and lively old self that I used to know. yes I gave her years to experiment with her new life without it affecting our friendship at all. I still cared for her cos I don't expect anything from friends except a good heart. But lately it was taking the toll on me too. I got disappointed too many times having called her up to meet me, have dinner, go out, stay over at my place etc etc. She refused to take part each time I invited her. She always had some excuse and I got tired of listening to that. The message I got from all her refusing was 'Keshi I'm a JW now and I don't associate worldly people'. Hell I'm worldly but I'm not dead yet. And yes I had enough of that shit. So today (after all these years) throwing one last ditch attempt to save this friendship and being refused again, I told her that I'm not willing to sit here anymore and wait for her to return, cos I feel she's different now and it seems that she doesn't want my friendship at all. It isnt fair on me and I don't deserve that kind of treatment. I'm pretty honest with my friends and I just had to tell her that or else I'd be lying all my life. She handled it pretty well, she didn't fight back - even that was weird cos she used to fight with me like normal friends do. Now she is acting like some eternally-forgiving, ever-loving, never-cursing Mother Superior living in a distant nunnery surrounded by pink roses and chirpy red robins! No offense to nuns but trust me she's not nun-material.

I don't get it. I mean what do these groups such as JWs do to normal people? Do they convert them into some Bible-preaching robots that miss out on real life and real friends on this Earth, in return of a so-called eternal life that no one can see? What's the point. To me friendship is faith-blind. That's why I stuck with her for so many years even after she distanced from me. But there comes a time when I feel I don't deserve to be pushed around like that and I think today is that day. I know I have no right to question someone else's faith but it really is irritating when someone's faith makes that person a text-book preaching, anthropophobic, plastic robot who becomes blind to all the real things in life. I miss her in my life but if her life is happier (or holier) without (this sinful) me, I'm happy for her and it better end neatly.

This is the EXACT email conversation that took place between us today:

Keshi: So r u coming to the Bollywood cruise?

Sharon: I can't. So sorry I forgot I promised to let you know. It is not really my thing I guess. Hope you are well?

Keshi:Bollywood is not your thing? Then how come you wanted to go for Bollywood dance lessons with me? (recently she forced me into taking Bollywood classes with her and I did, and she's also a big fan of Bollywood movies and clothes etc etc)

Sharon: No I didn't mean bollywood. meant cruising , with a lot of unknown people ! I am too old for that now. (why don't she wind up life altogether and get herself a coffin then? I'd provide the headstone that reads 'She was too old to live'. For fuck's sakes!)

Keshi:God Sharon I can’t believe u just said that! I don’t understand u somehow…u r not too old to take Bollywood dance classes with a lot of unknown students but ur too old to go on a cruise? From where do u get such out-dated thoughts? This kind of makes me feel stupid too. Do u think I’m too old to enjoy life???? I hope not. Pardon me for saying this but maybe it’s not the cruise…u just don’t seem to want to do any fun things with ME anymore. Cos u do have fun with ur other friends don’t u? Anyways that’s ok. THANKS! (at this point I wanted to climb Mount Everest and scream WHY ME until it echoed a million times!)

Sharon:Don't be silly. It is just that I am not in to parties. When was the last time you heard that I have been to a party? It is not you. I love going out to simple dinners in quiet restaurants etc. Or gatherings of not too many people. I don't enjoy dressing up and going out. That is just not me. I don't even have a party dress even. All my clothes are just simple cotton things. You know that very well. (liar liar undies on fire! Gatherings of not too many people? Why don't you go have drinks in a museum then?)

Keshi: No I didn’t know that at all..cos the last time we met u were shopping for a $200 wedding dress and u do go to parties with ur church friends (she's a big spender when it comes to clothes)

Sharon: That was a wedding of a very good friend (note the words very good friend - she means a JW friend). And I got a very simple looking dress. Which I will be wearing for 2 more weddings coming in Aug and in Nov. That is very different to a night out in the city. (excuses n excuses n excuses!)

Keshi: And I’m not a good friend u might want to go out with once in 10yrs?!!! Ok I don’t need no explanations anymore Sharon. Cos it’s so easy to argue a friendship’s worth through words but so hard to prove it through actions. I haven’t felt our great friendship for ages now. Maybe it’s dead.

Killer Entertainers

Death By Listening

I'm not a professional singer but as a music-lover I have the right to comment on singers. Does anyone here think Avril Lavigne can really sing? I don't. 'hey hey, you you, I want to be your girlfriend'?? How about 'hey hey, can you keep quiet? thanks'. She's an attractive blonde and I guess that's what keeps her on MTV. Sorry all you Avril-lovers, I can see rotten tomatoes coming my way but you know I cant lie. Gone are the days when singers could really sing and produce music that's meaningful (singers like Freddie Mercury and Kurt Cobain). These days anyone is a singer and mostly are one-hit-wonders. Paris Hilton attemped to sing but I'm glad it got stopped atleast for 23 days or so. It's always a great relief when Paris is on a break from the media (rolling eyes..). 'even though the gods are crazy, even though the stars are blind..' well I'm glad Paris finally realised she's blind. Nicole Ritchie gave it a shot as well...'with half a wink he asked me, what are you some kind of freak'...I'm not surprised he thought she's a freak. That should be some kind of sign for her to stop singing. Even better if she eats some food before she becomes a superstar among hollow-eyed aliens. Can you see the disappointment on Kurt's face? He must be cursing from his grave.

Cult-ivating Mania
James Packer and Erica Baxter spent more than $6million on their wedding in Nice, France few months ago. Very NICE work Mr.Packer (what a waste of money and resources). While I'm happy for the couple, don't you think spending over $6million on a wedding (even if you're the richest Aussie on Earth) is dumb? it's plain Bragging. ahhhhhh the extravagance and ignorance of some media moguls! Tomkat and Suri were wedding guests. I wonder what gift Tom gave James...a couch? Or perhaps a Scientology cook-book...shhhhh maybe they can't make noise when they cook. Speaking of Scientology, these days anyone can come up with a religion and call it a sacred religion that will save your soul for ETERNITY etc etc. One day, say Jack gets bored, doesn't know what to do and so he goes 'I'm bored so I'll go make a religion'. And it's called Jackentology or whatever, and you see a bunch of equally bored people joining it and saying 'Recently I found God (was he lost before)...o I'm finally happy now (as if)...in my religion we don't eat at night but we like wrecking couches (haaaa ha)...I'll go to heaven now and be free of all my sins (and brains)...I'm looking for a Jackentologist to settle down with (are they allowed to eat Maggie noodles?)'...blah blah blah. yawwwwwwwn! I simply loathe new and aimless cults, call me mean, I don't care.

Pseudonymphos
This is a photo of the grand memorial of Suri Cruise's first poop. Wonder what's so special about celebrity poop. Maybe the color changes every 5 seconds or perhaps it's donated to celebrity superannuation? Speaking of Suri, have you noticed some celebrities name their babies with the weirdest names ever? Such as Apple (maybe ColdPlay's frontman likes apple computers), Peaches and Fifi Trixibelle (Sir Bob Geldof must love the fairies in Peach trees), Tiger Lily Heavenly Hirani (I adore Hutchence's music but I'm not so sure about his 'heavenly' taste in names), Satchel (Woody Allen must have meant Sachet?), Maddox (Jolie and Pitt are maaaaad about boxes, I think!) etc etc. Imagine what Paris would name her baby if she ever becomes a mum? It would probably be HongKong, Manila or even P-a-rison (familiar place she's been for 23 days or so). So have you heard of any Mustards, Tables and Curtains lately?
