Walking On Fire

Have you ever felt like you were walking on fire? Still smiling as your feet burnt to ashes...still keeping your head straight and looking ahead to the future, when your feet were blistering in the heat and aching to put out the fire. Did you feel like you were sleeping on a bed of thorns that you could never wake up from? And still have you kept on marching ahead without your conscience faltering, longing to beat the pain some day? Have you continued your journey no matter how much the scorching flames tried to get you down? Have you felt that glimmering bit of hope dancing in front of your eyes while you thought you were dying? Did you see that faraway refuge as you kept walking among the crackling flames? And did that hope of a mirage-like shelter keep you walking no matter what? Did a voice inside you tell you that this fire will find it's water somehow, when all your pain will cease to exist? And did that voice keep you going even when your feet were burning in that raging fire's glory? Then you reached a certain point when you thought you couldn't take it anymore, did you finally feel a cool drop of water falling on your chest? And did that drop of water run down to your feet and slowly put out the fire? Did you then feel that you finally reached that glimmer of hope you felt long time ago? Did your burning soul then bathe in fresh cool water to feel it's destination? Did you then for a while sleep on a bed of roses...

And the Flying Kissee of the day is....

Someone who fits this post perfectly and it's none other than my dearest mate Ghosty! Ghosty and I have been good friends for a while now and it already seems like I've known him for life. The posts that he writes come from the bottom of his soul...no one can write like Ghosty writes! If you already know him, you know what I'm talking about. He has a style of writing that can never be replicated...that can never be stolen...that can never be forgotten. There's a reason for that. And that reason is cos he's been through hell...he's seen it all...he's felt like no one else has...he has walked on fire many times...cos he 'sees' the world more than many of us do. He deserves much more respect, love and introduction than what this post could possibly convey. But I wanna tell Ghosty how much I love him as a person and how much respect I have for him. There were many times that I felt Ghosty is writing exactly what I experienced...only that he does it better than how I could possibly convey. He's the master, he's the soul. The soul of pure humanness. Ghosty I want you to know that I've slept on beds of thorns and walked on fire like everyone else have...just know that we also get to feel the water sometimes. So have faith and hope, cos we all walk together somehow. MWACCKKZZZ Ghosty! Dija feel it? :) This song is especially for you...it's one of my favs from Bon Jovi. Enjoy, it's your day! Your friendship and love for me in Blogville has touched me deeply and please know that I will always be there for you like you were, are and undoubtedly will be, there for me...

Not necessarily as an aspect of life, but many a times in the small things that we do, we find ourselves missing out on something.. as if we are stuck in no mans land.. or maybe as u say on a bed of thorns. But then we do catch up that rope which will guide us towards a safer end.. somethin akin to bringing the boat ashore.

I donno if it happens to anyone with life as a whole.. but it sure does to us everytime when small things are considered.

Hi Keshi

When I started to read this post, I thought it was a sex fantasy. LOL

After, I realized what you were saying.

While I was away I met a pot-smoking minister, an alcoholic police officer and a career criminal. The three of them run a detective agency, and I must say that their antics are quite funny. In fact, they’re characters in a new series. LOL

Did I?

I’ll never tell.

LOL

every day is test..every moment is a test..
one wins and the other fails, so u see if one is sleeping on bed of roses means the other is sleeping on thorns...so life's fun u cant win in every situation..so one cant get beds of roses everyday..he has to walk on fire and not only on fire but on a thin wire too ..balancing everything in his life with every move he take..
m no different :)

I no need to tell you, that I too share walking on fine. In the long journey the thirst comes more, because the destination he desire to reach is high to enjoy pleasure.

"no one can write like Ghosty writes! If you already know him, you know what I'm talking about. He has a style of writing that can never be replicated...that can never be stolen...that can never be forgotten." Verytrue keshi, one can’t easily overcome his thoughts, they are deep and reasonable. Yes, he walks on fire for his dreams to exist. I am very proud to be his brother, and trying to learning what interest him.

AmitL said...

Ooh,I did,I did..last Friday, when I finished walking for three hours straight,a record even for me.I felt my feet burning, the fingers about to fall off...

Well, jokes apart,Keshi,yes..I have felt that sometimes in the past.Perhaps not to such an extreme measure,though-just when hopes seemed to be dying away, something would happen and there would be a glimmer again. And,perhaps that's what makes life worth living.:)

Preeti said...

Yup, living life everyday is walking on fire baby...but i guess its how u look at it...take it with a pinch of salt n u can make kebab outta it...or it would just get stale and burnt...

//? Still smiling as your feet burnt to ashes...//

I keep smiling coz I found the purest souls on the net. I wished I found you earlier, but we found each other somehow right. I think you found me...that makes it alot more nice.

In pain or in joy, we have each other, to look forward, to look behind and to look after each other. However hot the fire is, finally the drop of water...is our friends. They guide us, they embrace us and the look up to us. And like the bed of roses that does not last an eternity, thats how our lives will be...reborn but never far apart.

And I want to thank you for everyone who found me, followed this link to me. I do visit back your blogs, but forgive me if I dont comment...some moments in life, work rushes in and never wants to live. but then somedays...all I have is your amazing blogs and sincere writings.

Donn (my bro told me I have a big head...something must be in there bro!), my bro Jeevan, Veens and everyone...life is a bed of roses...hidden for the best day to unravel to us.

Three Cheers to Siva (Ghosty)!

Maybe you havent lived a life until it hurts to just wake up in the morning.
When you believe thateverything you have ever lived your life for is taken from you, you are at the bottom
But from the bottom there is only one way----up
You just have to believe in yourself and that the sun will rise again tomorrow.
Taking small steps seem painful but it is the only way back to the new you.
Life is really worth living

i'm relating to the glimmer of hope whilst feeling like your dying...

because i accidently left my USB memory stick plugged in the library but SOMEONE has STOLEN IT and not handed it in like a decent human being - and there is a glimmer of hope in me thinking i'll find it.. whilst i'm dying (of embarasment) thinking someone is looking through the private pictures (ahem) stored on it...

*sigh*

you'd return a memory stick though wouldn't you if you found one :'(

many a times keshigirl... many a times, the pain becomes unbearable, but i had to do it.

Life is funny at times, it teaches u a lot by providing u such moments of insanity, and most of the times u come out winning...

You know keshi, u really reminded me of one instance, in Jan 2005, my dad was diagnosed with heart disease and he was prescribed an open heart surgery, the dates of the surgery got postponed and it coincided with the dates of my GD/PI as i applied to several b-schools then. I decided not to go for it, but then my father forced me to do so...
The day when surgery was to happen, i was travelling in a train, my cell stopped working, there was no std booth available in the way... and my heart was sinking with every moment.
I reached the destination at 3 am in the morning, cried in my room as i still cudnt connect to him or mom...
In the morning 7 am i called, the first thing i did, and then i was given the news that it went all fine.
But keshigirl, the pain when i wasnt with my father, when he needed me the most, during the toughest of his times, i still feel it, i still walk down the same isle of fire many a times and i cry.

He is perfectly fine now and thats the only consolation i got out of this :)

Cheers!!!

about walking on fire... I feel like that all the time... but my feet dnt burn..its my heart that aches....

one hell of a gr8 post. even though u wrote it in plain words, it seemed like poetry for my eyes..... mayb for some more eyes too. thtre's a phase in almost every person's life where he has to walk on memories of fire and wait for that future of cold water. but the between these two phases is the one that really matters.
anyways, kudos to ghosty. all hail ghosty
