Light Up!

Just like the lamps, just like the prayers, may everyone have light in their lives to conquer differences and see the similarities (in other words, to diminish darkness and bask in the light). May all beings around the world be happy. HAPPY DIWALI(/DEEPAVALI) TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND THEIR FAMILIES!

Please keep your entries coming in for the last post (Kisszophrenia). I will announce the winners and publish my answer in the next post. Thanks all and have fun!

Today's song is one of my favorite Hindi numbers. The meaning is as follows:

My God listens
I will love you with my heart and soul, darling beloved
This life is for you, for you...
and you are for me, the echo of my heart
Love, just hear this much, that you are my dream
you are my only desire...
Darling, whence such talk?
Where is the great good fortune written in my fate
that I should become your desire?
If you say so, I'll tie a flower garland around my waist and sway drunkenly before you...
Your grace is so deadly, how will my heart bear it?
Take pity on my state
These flowers are all hearts here...

All the thorns are flowers
these are the paths of our love...

Oh, but I will tell you this much
watch your step, lest you stumble!
When two hearts have joined like this, how could they ever be separated?
Such is the story of you and me
What else remains for me to do now?
I must live and die for you alone
This right here is my life

UPDATE: I had to put a pic of me in saree (the pink saree one) cos everyone thought that the woman in the blue saree was me..hehe. She's hot so I'm happy :). But this is me in a pink saree (first pic). Enjoy!

A woman comes home and tells her husband, 'Remember those Headaches I've
been having all these years? Well, they're gone.'

'No more headaches?' the husband asks, 'What happened?'

His wife replies, Margie referred me to a hypnotist. He told me to stand
in front of a mirror, stare at myself and repeat

'I do not have a headache, I do not have a headache, I do not have a headache.'

It worked! The headaches are all gone.'

The husband replies, 'Well, that is wonderful.'

His wife then says, 'You know, you haven't been exactly a ball of fire
in the bedroom these last few years. Why don't you go see the Hypnotist and
see if he can do anything for that?'

The husband agrees to try it. Following his appointment, the husband
comes home, rips off his clothes, picks up his wife and carries her into the bedroom.

He Puts her on the bed and says, 'Don't move, I'll be right back.' He
goes into the bathroom and comes back. A few minutes later and jumps into bed and
makes passionate love to his wife like never before.

His wife says, 'Boy, that was wonderful!'

The husband says, 'Don't move! I will be right back.' He goes back into the bathroom, comes back and round two was even better than the first time.

The wife sits up and her head is spinning.

Her husband again says, 'Don't move, I'll be right back.' With that, He goes back in the bathroom.

This time, his wife quietly follows him and there, in the bathroom,

She sees him standing at the mirror and saying,

'She's not my wife. She's not my wife. She's not my wife...'

His funeral service will be held on Friday.

"It doesn't interest me what you do for living.
I want to know what you ache for,
and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love,
for your dreams, for the adventures of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow,
if you have been opened by life's betrayals,
or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own,
if you can dance with the wildness and let ecstasy
fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us to be careful,
to be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself;
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and
not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty,
even when it's not pretty everyday,
and if you can source your life from the Divine presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure,
yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake
and shout to the silver moon.

"YES!" I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone,
and do what needs to be done for children.
It doesn't interest me who you are or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me
and not shrink back."

After having their 11th child, Laloo & Rabri decided that was enough. So
then Laloo went to his doctor and told him that he and his wife did not want
any more children. The doctor told him that there was a procedure called a
vasectomy that could fix the problem. The doctor instructed him to go home,
get a Diwali bomb, light it, put it in a empty Coke can, then hold the can up
to his ear and count to 10. Laloo said to the doctor, "I'm the smartest man
in Bihar, but I don't see how putting a Diwali atom bomb in a Coke can next
to my ear is going to help me with my problem." So the couple drove to Delhi
to get a second opinion. The Delhi physician was just about to tell them
about the procedure for a vasectomy when he noticed by their Medical records
that they were from Bihar. This doctor instead told Laloo to go home and get
a Diwali atom bomb, light it,place it in a Coke can and hold it to his ear
and count to 10. Figuring that both learned physicians knew what they were
talking about and couldn't be wrong, Laloo went home, lit a atom bomb, put
it in a coke can. He held it up to his ear and began to count with his
fingers on his left hand : "1,2,3, 4,5" At which point he paused, placed the
coke can between his legs and resumed counting on the other hand.

Jim said...

A beautiful, voluptuous woman goes to see a gynaecologist. The doctor takes
one good look at this woman and his professionalism is a thing of the past.
Right away he tells her to undress. After she has disrobed he begins to
stroke her thigh.

As he does he says to the woman: "Do you know what I`m doing ?"

"Yes," she says, "you`re checking for any abrasions or dermatological

"Correct," says thedoctor.

He then begins to fondle her breasts. "Do you know what I`m doing now",he

"Yes," says the woman, "you`re checking for any lumps or breastcancer."

"That`s right," replies the doctor. He then gradually proceeds to having
sexual intercourse with her. "Do you know," he pants "what I`m doing now?"

"Yes," she says. "You`re getting herpes."

I've noticed - been forced to notice, so to speak - that you can lose even the possibility of happiness and still be peaceful. This would have been completely beyond imagining to me prior to my illness, and its progression as far as it's gone.

It's made me think that underlying any real happiness there must be peace. In my healthy life, I'd become a truly happy person.
